Book Club - The Crucible
Join us this July for a discussion of ‘The Crucible’, a play dramatizing the famous Salem witch trials - a series of hearings and prosecutions of people, particularly women, accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. The play explores the gendered power relations between the accusers and the accused through the chilling portrayal of the events in one small town.
This bimonthly book club led by Singapore Committee for UN Women showcases local and international fiction and non-fiction works through a gender lens.
